July 13, 2009 We've decided to return to an impression-based advertising model. Length of time may be easier for customers to understand, but number of impressions is fairer to you, because your impressions per month will vary depending on site traffic and how many other ads are in the rotation containing your ad. Though our rates have always been unbeatable, we want to make sure that every advertising dollar you spend with us goes as far as possible.
How this model works is you pay a set price per 1,000 impressions. It's called CPM (Cost Per iMpressions). Each time a page is viewed with your ad on it, that's an impression.
At present, we're only charging .50 per 1,000 impressions, for either size ad. That's $5 for 10,000 displays of your ad. If you don't know anything about CPM rates, this is about as good as you can get. And if you're paying per month or other period of time to advertise on a website, you're almost certainly paying a high CPM.
All options include the display of either a 160x114 (with optional text underneath) or a 160x600-pixel banner on every page of Meet Port Huron, plus unlimited posting access to our "Sponsor Specials" board in the forum, where you can get additional exposure for your promotions and coupons. For coupons, we recommend the paperless "mention this ad" variety, as many people don't have easy access to a printer; but you're certainly welcome to post a printable coupon image if you prefer.
Don't judge our traffic by our member count; we just started fresh in February '09, and a lot of visitors don't sign up for an account, but on average, they view 10+ pages per visit. If you desire any more information, don't hesitate to contact us.
